I’m looking at getting myself dealt up with an iPhone over the next month or so, seeing as I’m probably the last person on the planet to own one! My current Vodafone contract is still in term until December, but I’ve sent off the letter of termination to get it ended early and pay up the remaining months. Hopefully the sale of my current handset will cover that initial cost.
So, I’ll soon be making the exciting trip to the Apple Store to buy a sparkly iPhone 3GS, but here’s my big dilemma – Which colour do I go for?!
I’m torn between black and white, although with white being a little less common I’m leaning towards that. Earlier in the year I treated myself to a MacBook Pro and Cinema Display, so I can’t wait to complete my tech collection!

Well, I finally did it, and went ahead with… Black!
I like the white one better, but I’d be afraid that it would get too dirty too easily, so I’d probably stick with the Manly Black color ;)

Even though black is more common, I’d go that route simply because I would think that it would hide dirt/wear and tear a little better than the white would.
Trust me you’re not the last person on the planet – Im torn between BlackBerry and iPhone! If I go for an iPhone I reckon I’d pick the white one, it looks so much more lush and not as common as the black one. Stand out in the crowd me thinks :)

Go Black Chris, the white colour is a little bit dirty when you handle it before a while.
i saw the white one getting funny stains from some thing chemical reaction or another started rumor for a bit of phones overheating . i would go black .. cant fail.
Tough decision. Black shows more fingerprints but white shows more dirt. Ultimately, my vote is for black!

Go for white. I know what they say about the dirt, but it’s so shiny-shiny it’ll wipe easy … this is speaking as a black iPhone 3G owner … sigh …
Ok–I’ll bite. I was in your shoes until two weeks ago. My Blackberry did everything until it wouldn’t run the new version of Evernote.
I bought a new **White** GS. My vote–white. The black one is more common and shows scratches much more easily. BTW, it’s all about the apps . . .

To be fair…how dirty are you if your phone gets that dirty and caked on?

I would most definately go for white. I have the 3G in black and i really wish i would have gotten white. i think white would match my alpine white 1series bmw :D
I have the white one, but I keep it in a protective black (go figure!) case. The case has a rubbery texture so that I can grip it better (always afraid to drop it!) So, I guess it really doesn’t matter if you plan to keep it in a case…
At this stage I’d give anything just to get my hands on either of them. All sold out in Ireland, apparently going to take another 3-4 weeks before they have more stock :(

If you want to complete your collection properly you would want all your gadgets to fit the colour scheme… Therefore anything should be Black and or brushed metal. Go Black!!! :-)

Get yourself a see through sleeve from the apple website and you’re sorted. DIrt or fingerprints hardly appear with the clear sleeve.

I’ve heard the white ones turn a slight brown color on the back due to overheating. I’d stick with the black anyway though.

After having a silver and black iPhone, I will probably go with white next time round… but black is sexy!
